Description
RADIOBALLO is a project brought to life by Ana Rodríguez and Robert Da Silva in Uruguay.
Using field recording and interviews as tools, they reconstruct the work carried out in the countryside of Curtina and other rural areas of Tacuarembó, proposing the Horse as the main actor.
Through precise territorial work, sound recording, and research, both highlight the labor of animals and the importance of the horse within the social nucleus of rural life. This environment still resists certain insolent assaults of uncertain modernity, emphasizing and rescuing the role of this actor—so particular, yet so necessary.
RADIOBALLO, perhaps originally named Radio on Horseback, is a series of three episodes broadcast in 2022 on El RUIDO es el Mensaje (Argentina). It later evolved into a testimony of ten passages that predispose the listener to an Attentive Listening—necessary and profound, free of prejudice—like a reflective portrait, an urgent and immediate response to the hollow immediacy of social networks and cell phones.
