CALATHEA experimenta is an independent Argentine digital label dedicated to radioart, experimental electronics, soundscape, sound art, noise, electroacoustics and experimental music.

We listen to new works all year round. If your project treats sound as an aesthetic experience — transmitting, reflective, regenerative — we want to hear it.

CALATHEA experimenta — Radioarte | Experimental

What we release

We release works conceived or produced within experimental creative processes.
We are guided not by the destination genre but by the working method:
aesthetic risk, exploration of sound as experience, and originality of
process.

A pop song with an experimental production method interests us as much as a
radio art piece, a soundscape or a sound installation.

What defines a work for us is the way it was thought, listened to and built.

Genres we listen to and move in

Radio Art · Experimental Electronics · Soundscape · Sound Art · Noise ·
Electroacoustics · Contemporary Music · Experimental

This list is an entry signal, not a limit. If your work dialogues with any of
these fields or inhabits the borders between them, it is welcome.

How we work

CALATHEA experimenta operates as an editorial label and production space.
Depending on the case, our work with each piece may include:

  • Editorial curation and release within our catalogue
  • Production support and completion of the work
  • Specialized mixing for experimental music and sound art
  • Mastering specific to radio art and long-form pieces
  • 360° communication development and career management

The standard agreement runs 4 to 5 years with automatic renewal. The master
copy of the work mastered by CALATHEA remains in the label’s custody as part
of the production work. The artist retains authorship and ownership of the
original work.

Every work released on CALATHEA experimenta is co-built between artist
and A&R direction.

We are an artist-run label: we work with a small number of works per year,
with complete dedication to each project.

Our listening process

Every submission is listened to in full by the label’s A&R direction. No
automatic filters, no algorithmic pre-selection, no discards by metadata.
We do the chair-work: we sit down and LISTEN attentively.

Evaluation criteria:

  • Sonic quality and coherence of the work
  • Fit with the label’s editorial line
  • Viability of release within our catalogue
  • Originality and aesthetic risk

The evaluation is not a judgment on the overall quality of your work. It is
a reading of the fit between your work and the current moment of our
catalogue.
